21 August is my birthday. This year, I am going to be 20 years old( although I look more like 30). Last year was my first time celebrating my birthday in NTU. I am lucky to have my OGmates who planned a surprise for me. It was really enjoyable and I really didn't expect it.
This year, as a senior, I was not surprised. But I am still glad that they planned a birthday celebration for me.
Firstly, it was with my friends in Red Cross and ISP. We had the celebration before the welcome tea. Then it was with my fellow LDPians. I was supposed to attend the meeting at 7pm but I reached at 8:10pm due to delay in the Red Cross welcome tea. Anyway, the meeting was actually finished but they continua acting as though they were still meeting. Their acting was so good that I actually fell for that.
After that, I went to MAE rally to support the candidates. After, Siew Ping gave her speech, we went to Ah fang for supper. Then Wencin said that they were meeting us at Chinese Heritage Centre. Again, it was a pleasant surprise to see alot of Qeisharo and Nausicaa members there. I am lucky to be born in August as school has just started and more people with come down for my birthday celebration :)
I am happy to have you all at my birthday celebration. Thank you!

Eating, Eating and Eating!
This is the second week of school and also MAE week. MAE Club had organised a series of event and I participated in one that require almost no skill, which is FEAR EATER. It was on Wednesday.
On that day, I eat a light breakfast to prepare for the competition. I ate a slice of honeydew and some slices of apple. In the first round, I gobbled down 1 banana, 1 bottle of new water and 1 MacChicken under i minute. For the final round, I only managed to eat 2 banana, drink a few bottles of new water and swallowed 2 MacChicken. Even though I emerged as the first runner up. I was way behind the champion and very close to 3rd and 4th.
After that, I ate one more MacChicken before lunch. For lunch, I ate Quad Chicken Spaghetti. For dinner, I enjoyed my Ikan Bawal Penyet with extra rice. Not forgetting to mention that I also ate a small packet of Eclairs.
Total food consumed on 19 Aug 2009:
1 slice of honeydew
Several slices of apple
3 bananas
Several bottles of new water
4 MacChicken
1 plate of Quad Chicken Spaghetti
1 plate of Ikan Penyet with extra rice
1 small packet of Eclairs
I seriously need to control my appetite...

Mechanical Engineering
For the past year, I really dun have the feeling that I am going to be a Mechanical Engineer. But today, I finally felt that I am studying ME. I had a lab session today where we had to study different parts of a gear box. I finally understand what are shaft, gear, bearing, key and so on. The instructor wanted us to be independent, so we disassembled and assembled the gear box by ourselves under his supervision. We measured the parts, learned the functions and sketched diagrams. My hands was greasy after the experiment, but I was satisfied. I finally experienced what mechanical engineering is about.
Freshmen Orientation Camp
Finally, Malaysian Student Association Freshmen Orientation Camp 2009 is finally over. I have mixed feelings about this camp, 50 % tired, 20% frustration and not forgetting 30% joy. This time, I am no longer a freshie, but a senior and will be leading the incoming freshies. I joined Welfare, since I know I will not be a good programmer or photographer.
For the first day, I was the Hall 11 SA, who was in charge of welcoming the Hall 11 freshies. Seeing all of them got a Hall and I could not get one, I was seriously depressed. The feelings continued till night time when I still could not find a place to squat. I finally got a place to, which is Benjamin's room. Thanks to Ben I can stay in Hall 11 and do my work as FOC Hall manager.
My bad mood continue in the second day. But then, when I was browsing through files in my computer, I found and rewatched the video of my birthday celebration in NTU. It was really memorable. My OG mates planned a surprise for me and it was fun. Now, I can still remember clearly what happened in FOC 2008, how we played together, had fun, bonded. OG mates may not be your best friends in NTU, but they are most probably the first group of people you meet in NTU and for that, they are special. I realised this and wanted the freshies to experience the same thing. That's why I swallowed all my frustration and worked hard in the camp.
As a welfare and senior, I tried to take care of the freshies, answer their queries and inspire them. However, I do have regrets. I was exhausted and didnt talk much after a few days. I did not have much time to interact with the freshies in my group. I wanted them to feel what I felt last year but I couldn't. I can only do my best. I hope I had done a decent job as Hall SA, Hall Manager, Admin SA, Welfare and senior.
Lastly, 3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for FOC!
